Tarnoosh album

Tarnoosh is an Iranian fusion band, wherein the fusion is not in the arrangement of the instruments, but is in the movement of melodies, harmonies, and the creative exploitation of Iranian national and folk instruments. At times, the use of the bass guitar and drums alongside and Iranian ensemble injects more life and mystique into Tarnoosh’s tracks.
Tarnoosh has so far released one studio album, “Tarnoosh”, which is named after the band, with the upcoming album “Ensaan” (Human in Persian) having just finished production.

Human album teaser

In this album, we are trying to create a different sound, a new feeling and atmosphere from the Iranian orchestra, namely: tar, santoor, oud, kamancheh, qanun, ney, daf, tombak, dohol, etc. (without the presence of non-Iranian instruments). A feeling and atmosphere that is not expected from a regular traditional Iranian orchestra.
In this work, the oud plays the role of bass guitar, the santoor plays the role of chord guitar and arpeggio, and Iranian percussion instruments such as; dom dom, dohol, dayare and daf play the role of drums, and the rest of the instruments, including string instruments such as tar, kamancheh and qanun, in addition to wind instruments such as duduk and ney, play a melodic and contrapuntal role.
The album Ensan has 7 tracks that are based on human emotions and characteristics such as: understanding, passion, love, tribe and…

About Tarnoosh Group

Tarnoosh is an Iranian fusion music group, whose fusion is not in the arrangement of instruments together, but in the movement of melodies and harmonies and creative and new uses of traditional and national Iranian instruments in its music. Sometimes, a bass guitar and drums alongside the Iranian ensemble give more energy and dynamism to Tarnoosh’s music.
Tarnoosh’s music is without words (instrumentation) and is basically similar to film music (but more rhythmic) and very conducive to the image. The songs are arranged in a way that creates a very diverse and exciting atmosphere in live performances and large concerts. Tarnoosh’s songs also have the potential to be combined with national instruments from other countries and cultures in live performances. For example, in one of the group’s songs called “Razm”, this combination is made between the two instruments, the Chinese erhu and the Iranian ney.
Tarnoosh has so far released 1 album called “Tarnoosh” and has completed the production of a new album called “Insan”.
